Appraisals & Expert Reports<\/h1>\n

Verbal appraisals are provided free of charge<\/strong>, provided that Mr Boyer does not need to retain your instrument for further examination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Should your instrument require further study, the following services are available:<\/p>\n

Verbal Expertise<\/h2>\n

Once the examination has been completed, Mr Boyer will meet with you by appointment and provide his professional opinion regarding the origin and authenticity of the instrument.<\/p>\n

Please note that no written report will be issued<\/strong> following this consultation, other than the corresponding invoice.<\/p>\n

Fees:<\/strong> from \u20ac100 (excl. VAT)<\/strong> per instrument.<\/p>\n

\n

Certificate of Authenticity<\/h2>\n

A Certificate of Authenticity formally records the origin and authenticity of the instrument. Under French law, the certificate remains valid for twelve years<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Each certificate is accompanied by a complete set of photographs bearing the expert’s embossed seal.<\/p>\n

Please note that, in France, such certificates should be issued by a court-appointed expert<\/strong>. A certificate signed by a company or by an individual who is not legally recognised as an expert has no legal authority<\/strong> in the event of litigation.<\/p>\n

Fees:<\/strong> \u20ac300 (excl. VAT)<\/strong> for instruments valued below \u20ac10,000<\/strong>, then 3% (excl. VAT)<\/strong> of the appraised value for instruments valued above this amount.<\/p>\n

\n

Valuation Certificate<\/h2>\n

In addition to a Certificate of Authenticity, a Valuation Certificate may be issued to establish the fair market value of the instrument on the date of inspection.<\/p>\n

The certificate is accompanied by photographs of the instrument but, unlike the Certificate of Authenticity, does not include a detailed descriptive report.<\/p>\n

A Valuation Certificate does not expire<\/strong> and remains valid until market conditions or the instrument itself justify a revised valuation.<\/p>\n

\n

Insurance Valuation Certificate<\/h2>\n

Insurance companies frequently require an Insurance Valuation Certificate when arranging cover for a musical instrument.<\/p>\n

This document establishes the replacement value<\/strong> of the instrument in the event of loss, theft or accidental damage.<\/p>\n

The valuation may be updated whenever requested by your insurer.<\/p>\n

In the event of an insurance claim, the certificate will serve as the reference document for determining compensation, restoration costs and, where appropriate, any depreciation following repair.<\/p>\n
